Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

How cancellation and refunds work for your Scholiad subscription.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation is self-serve and takes effect without any retention or win-back step. You keep access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for. After your paid access ends, your matched feed and saved searches become read-only, and your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your profile and saved entries (JSON or .ics) at any time. A paid archive option for continued read-only access is available.

Refunds

Monthly plans. If you are on a monthly plan, you may request a full refund within 48 hours of a charge, provided you have not meaningfully used any AI-assisted feature in that period.

Annual plans. Annual plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee: request a full refund within 30 days of your annual charge, provided you have not substantially used the AI-assisted features. After 30 days the annual term is non-refundable.

What you can use freely. Browsing the job board, viewing Prime listings, opening Posting at a Glance, and receiving your email alerts do not use our paid AI services and do not affect your refund eligibility — so you can explore everything Scholiad’s listings offer during your refund window.

AI-assisted features carry real costs. Using an AI-assisted feature — a fit appraisal or AI match analysis, a CV, cover-letter, or statement review, a portfolio coherence audit, or a venue recommendation — incurs a per-use cost with our AI providers and ends your full-refund eligibility. Once you have used these features, those costs are not recoverable: any refund is reduced by the value of the AI features already used, and a refund may be declined where AI usage has been substantial.

After the refund window. You may cancel at any time and keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for; partial periods and renewal charges are not refunded.

Refunds are issued through our payment provider to your original payment method.

Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or United Kingdom, you have a statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of your purchase. By asking us to make the service available immediately at checkout, you consent to early performance; where you have used the service, any refund is proportionate to the unused portion of your billing period. Nothing in this policy limits the mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country.

Plan changes

Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the remainder of the current billing cycle. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current cycle, so you retain what you have paid for. Switching between monthly and annual billing follows the same rules.

This page summarizes our current policy; the full legal terms are in our Terms of Service, and data handling is described in our Privacy Policy. Questions? Email support@scholiad.com.
